Cagayan PLGU awards tribike, motorcycles to Piat villages

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – A total of six villages in the municipality of Piat in this province received new tricycles and motorcycles from the provincial government recently.

Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said the barangay recipients were able to purchase the new vehicles with the financial assistance the provincial government has provided them since 2016 under the “No Barangay Left Behind” program.

There were already 820 villages in Cagayan that have benefited from the program since 2016 when the program was launched, according to Mamba.

Barangay Captains Eric Taguba, Marcelo Mangoba, Charlito Alupani, Maximinio Tulauan, Odilon Llyod Gundan, and Darwin Oli of Barangay Sta. Barbara, Villa Rey, Catarauan, Gumarueng, Sicatna, and Poblacion 1, respectively, each received a tricycle.

The Barangays of Catarauan, Gumarueng, and Sta. Barbara and Poblacion, on the other hand, also each received one unit of motorcycle.

The barangay officials themselves, in consultation with the Agkaykaysa leaders and empowerment officers, agreed to utilize their NBLB funds for the said purchase to step up their land assets in maintaining peace and order in their areas of jurisdiction. (OTB/MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
