Zamboanga City (PIA) – Nearly 4,000 job opportunities were up for grabs during the “Kalayaan Job Fair” here spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-9 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

A total of 35 jobseekers were recorded as hired-on-the-spot.

We hope that we land a good job.” Shaina expressed.

She highlighted that fresh graduates often struggle to find jobs that align with their degrees. She emphasized the importance of patience and perseverance, especially for first-time job seekers with no prior work experience.

DOLE-9 Regional Director Albert Gutib and its field offices conduct different activities simultaneously on Independence Day all throughout Zamboanga Peninsula, highlighting the turnover of livelihood kits to selected beneficiaries, the distribution of Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payout and Job Fair.

As part of DOLE’s goal in ensuring to create and generate more jobs for all Filipinos, the job recruitment event was implemented to aid Filipino families to meet their daily ends by helping them land a good and stable job.

“I encourage all job seekers to grab this opportunity offered by the government especially if you’re looking for a good and stable job,” Gutib said.

First time job seekers also availed the one-stop-shop services of partner government agencies during the activity, such as PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, Social Security System (SSS), and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) as part of occupational requirements.
