TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, March 20 (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th Engineering Office has identified eighty one (81) programmed infrastracture projects to be implemented for 2017 within its jurisdiction.
The 81 regular projects, funded through the general appropriations act (GAA), amounting to Php1.8 billion includes the preservation, widening and rehabilitation of the national roads, the network development of roads, strengthening of bridges, construction/maintenance of flood control mitigation structures and drainage systems, multi-purpose facilities, construction of local roads and water supply systems.
“Some of these projects were already bid-out and are ready for its implementation,” Leyte 4th District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzalez disclosed in a press statement.
Aside from the regular infrastracture projects, the office will also implement projects of other government agencies such as school buildings of the Department of Education, rural health facilities of the Department of Health, roads leading to tourist destinations of the Department of Tourism, and farm-to-market roads implemented by the Department of Agriculture.
