SOLECO shares energy conservation tips
MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, July 5 (PIA) -- The Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) shared with its electric consumers conservation tips to avoid wasteful consumption of energy in their households.
SOLECO officer-in-charge Arce Salazar III with SOLECO Warehouseman Andrew Sanchez were guests at the Action Center Kapihan sa Philippine Information Agency over Maasin Cable TV and simulcast with DySL Radyo Ng Bayan-Sogod this morning.
Salazar advised consumers to consider energy-efficiency of appliances when buying.
Sanchez revealed that the light-emitting diode (LED) types of televisions sets, which are flat screens, will require less energy consumption compared with the cathode-ray tubes (CRT)-TV types.
He also advised to iron the clothes by batches, not individually. He also said to prioritize the heavier clothes and the lighter ones for later, and to unplug the appliance when ironing the last pieces of clothing, including handkerchiefs.
Salazar also taught the consumers how to compute for the energy consumptions of each appliance and how to get the nearest estimate in energy saved and its corresponding cost. (PIA8 SoLeyte)
