Maasin City to receive P3-M Performance Challenge Fund award
MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, July 19 (PIA) -- The city government of Maasin is set to receive a P3-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) award for complying with the standards of good governance.
“The city government passed the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) program initiated by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the year 2011, hence, the city government of Maasin is entitled to the incentives for compliant LGUs,” City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) Elsa Tingcoy said in an interview.
DILG will award Maasin with the P3-million PCF as an incentive for complying with the SGH last year, Tingcoy said. She said the city government has received the notice for the said financial award.
Tingcoy said the city government also received a P20-million Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) award for passing the SGH last year.
Maasin City Mayor Maloney Samaco in an interview said the city government has already identified several infrastructure projects for the LGSF award to be used in such as improvements of the Maasin City Complex, roads, bridges and the construction of a new slaughterhouse. (GTT/LDL/ESG/PIA8 SoLeyte)
