ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 27 (PIA) –- A total of 765 jeepney operators all over the Zamboanga Peninsula Region received their Pantawid Pasada (PP) Cards from Land Transportation Office (LTO) as of July 26.
LTO Regional Director Aaminola P. Abaton said of the 765 PP card holders, 706 were beneficiaries from this city, 53 were from Zamboanga Del Norte and four beneficiaries from Pagadian City and two were from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
Abaton called on the jeepney drivers, operators in the region to avail of this benefit and claim the PP cards that are intended for their benefit.
The PP cards will be loaded with a onetime P1,050 worth of gasoline assistance per beneficiary ten days after receipt of the card.
He said beneficiaries can get their PP Cards at any LTO District Office.
Abaton advised the beneficiaries to bring pertinent documents such as authenticated certificate of registration, franchise and identification cards when claiming their PP Cards.
The Panatawid Pasada Program is an off-shoot of President Benigno Aquino III’s Executive Order no. 325 which aims to immediately address the problem of land transport sector due to the soaring oil prices in the world market.
Pantawid Pasada Program is a short term assistance program to help jeepney and tricycle drivers nationwide cushion the effects of the oil price crisis. (JPA/ PIA9 Zambo City).
