Soldiers conduct Brigada Eskwela in Ifugao towns
LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 4 (PIA) -- Heeding the call of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the local government units (LGU), members of the 86th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army based here conducted a series of Brigada Eskwela in the different towns days before classes opened today.
Speaking in the daily radio program “Humangan with PIA,” Sgt. Juewil Ramos said the soldiers participated in the Brigada Eskwela in Baguinge Elementary School in Barangay Baguinge in Kiangan town doing construction works, concreting fence, carpentry, plastering of walls, and cleaning of surroundings.
They also assisted the teaching staff of the Kiangan National High School in the clean up drive, ground leveling, construction of makeshift structure, and demolition of old school building in the said school.
The army personnel also constructed male and female urinals, digging of hole for compose pit, and cleaning the surroundings of the Pindongan Elementary School in said town.
Ramos further disclosed that members of the PA based in Asipulo town also helped at the Asipulo Central School in fixing chairs and tables, in constructing /cementing flower boxes and cleaning of surroundings.
Troops based in Tinoc town, on the other hand, repaired and painted tables and chairs and joined in the clean up drive at the Tinoc Central School. They also assisted the teaching staff of the Tinoc National High School in constructing concrete fence. (JDP/VDB-PIA CAR Ifugao)
