LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 7 (PIA) --The Provincial Veterinary Office here called on the public to be vigilant and not to buy 'botcha' (double dead meat) as three municipalities here are experiencing an outbreak of suspected hog cholera.

Speaking this morning in the daily radio program “Humangan with PIA”, Dr. Gloria Evangelio of the PVET Office called on the public to be vigilant when buying meat and for traders not to sell infected hogs.

Evangelio said that hardest hit was Bulao of Barangay Hapid and Barangay Pugol in Lamut town with 30 dead pigs and many more becoming sick. Kiangan also reported three pigs dead at Labanon of Barangay Pindongan and Lagawe with two cases at Barangay Bahawit.

She also appealed to hog raisers to closely monitor the animals for proper treatment and secure the proper medicines from their office to be injected to the hogs as a preventive measure in containing the disease. (VDB- PIA CAR,Ifugao)
