LAMUT, Ifugao, July 20 (PIA)--Newly elected officers of 50 students’ organizations of Ifugao State University (IFSU) took oath yesterday as they officially start their duties in their respective organizations for school year 2012-2013.
In a mass induction and turn-over ceremony held at the main campus at Barangay Nayon here, Victor Bunnol Jr, board member, urged the officers to make a difference in their respective organization, school, and community.
“This is a tough job, but believe me, the world out there is much tougher, and most importantly, it consists of daunting oceans where one must find his niche and space to swim,” Bunnol said to about 300 incoming and outgoing officers of school organizations.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the school and the student organizations for preparing the officers to face these challenges.
"Consistent with the challenges ahead, I must commend the academicians and administrators of the Ifugao State University for building this truly academic and technical learning community up to the marks adding that the institution has lived up to its mission to give the young and professional graduates the best education possible," he said.
Bunnol, an alumnus of the IFSU elementary and laboratory high schools here, was instrumental in the procurement of five computer sets and a fund of P40,000 used in the Criminology Review Center.
Kazzy Nagulman, elected president of the United Students Supreme Government, in his speech, encouraged every officer to be united and work for a common goal - that is for the improvement of the students and the university as a whole.
“Forget that we come from different groups, instead let us continue the good programs of the past officers, unite all student organizations, continue strengthening our relationship with the administration, work with our local officials for the betterment of our fellow students and school and implement all our programs and projects which we promised to undertake during the campaign period,” Nagulman said.
Dr. Dinah Licyayo, director of the Department of Students Services and Development (DSSD) advised the students to look at the school administration as partners in their quest for development. (VDB-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
