PNoy allots P850M for Dipolog infra projects
DIPOLOG CITY, Aug. 2 (PIA) -- Local government infrastructure projects are now on the receiving end of funding from the national budget. This goes too with the infrastructure projects in Dipolog City that will be funded at the cost of P850 million.
In her meeting with President Aquino in Malacañang, city Mayor Evelyn T. Uy said the President assured her the release of the fund,
a big chunk to be used for the expansion/upgrading of the Dipolog City Airport, which was mentioned by the President in his State of the Nation Address.
The mayor said that P150 million of it will be used for the completion of the Corazon C. Aquino Memorial Hospital at Brgy. Biasong, this city.
In a related development, Albert Alimpulos, city planning and development coordinator, said that the coffers of the city government have remained liquid.
It has fully paid its loans for its five projects like the Dipolog Public Market and the implementation of solid waste management for P19.7 million, small and medium scale livelihood projects worth P1 million, computerization program for P10 million, Dipolog Feeder port worth P27 million, and a water supply project costing P10.2 million.
As of 2011, the city’s total income and actual IRA were P519,990.002.04 and P372,399,735, respectively.
At present, the city’s total borrowings against its IRA only account for eight percent. (JPA/FPG-PIA 9, Zamboanga del Norte)
