OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Hulyo 3 (PIA) -- Mokabat sa 2,500 ka punoan sa kahoy ang gitanum sa mga sakop sa OCPS kun Ozamiz City Police Station uban sa Joint Task Force Panguil, kaniadtong milabay nga Hunyo 27.

Kasagaran mahogany ug falcata, ang maong mga kahoy gitanum ubos sa programa ni Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome sa Philippine National Police nga ginganlan ug “Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong Puno Pamana Sa Kinabukasan.”

Matud pa ni P/Supt. Jonas T. Amparo, OCPS Chief, ang maong pagtanum sa kahoy didto himo-a sa tulo ka ektaryang Banyan Tree Heritage Park nga nahimutang sa Barangay Dimaluna, ning siyudad.

Gisalmotan kini sa mga sakop sa Dimaluna Barangay Patrol Action Team, uban sa pagtambayayong sa mga opisyales a barangay.

Ang maong kalihokan ginahimo sa mga sakop sa kapulisa sa Ozamiz, matag Miyerkoles, sukad pa niadtong bulan sa Pebrero agig suporta sa PNP ngadto sa NGP kun National Greening Program ni Presidente Benigno S. Aquino III segun sa iyang gipakanaug nga Executive Order No. 26.

Sumala sa EO 26, nga gipakanaug sa Presidente, ang Pilipinas magtanum sa 1.5 bilyon nga kahoy sa 1.5 milyon ka ektarya nga luna sulod sa unom ka tuig, gikan sa 2011 ngadto sa 2016 (2011-2016).

Ubos sa NGP, ang probinsiya sa Misamis Occidental gitahasan sa pagtanum sa kinatibuk-an nga 499,289 ka kahoy sulod sa 999 ka ektarya nga luna niining mosunod nga mga dapit: City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Ozamiz City, 287 ka ektarya nga luna, CENRO Oroquieta City, 291 ka ektarya nga luna, Baliangao Protected Landscape and Seascape (BPLS), lima ka ektarya nga luna ug Mt. Ozamiz Police plant 2,500 trees under the “Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong Puno Pamana sa Kinabukasan” Project

Some 2,500 seedlings of trees were planted by the members of the Ozamiz City Police Station (OCPS), together with its field training personnel (FTP) and the Joint Task Force Panguil, last June 27.
Mostly of the mahogany and falcate species, planting of such trees was undertaken relative to the project of Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) dubbed as “Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong Puno Pamana Sa Kinabukasan.”
Police Supt. Jonas T. Amparo, OCPS Chief, said the tree-planting activity was conducted at the Banyan Tree Heritage Park, an estimated 3-hectare planting area, located in Purok 5 of Barangay Dimaluna, this city.
It was participated in by members of the Dimaluna Barangay Patrol Action Team (BPAT) in coordination with the barangay officials of the area.
“We have been doing this tree-planting activity, every Wednesday since February, as PNP’s commitment of support to the National Greening Program (NGP) of President Benigno S. Aquino pursuant Executive Order No. 26.
Such EO was issued by the President with the aim of planting some 1.5 billion trees in 1.5 million hectares of land for a period of six (6) years, from 2011 to 2016.
Under the NGP, the province of Misamis Occidental targets to plant a total of 499,289 trees in an area of 999 hectares located in the following areas:
City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Ozamiz City, 287 hectares, CENRO Oroquieta City, 291 hectares, Baliangao Protected Area Landscape and Seascape (BPLS), five (5) hectares and Mt. Malindang Range and Natural Park, 416 hectares. (PIA-Mis. Occ.)
