TESDA-X names nominees to the Kabalikat Awards search
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 7 -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Northern Mindanao is giving Kabalikat Awards for the legislative and local government unit (LGU) categories.
This year, the local government of Valencia city, through City Mayor Leandro Jose H. Catarata, is the region’s nominee to the Kabalikat Award National Search for the LGU category in recognition for its best practice and cooperation with TESDA.
The second district of Misamis Oriental, through Cong. Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, is re-nominated to the search in recognition for the District’s continued exemplary support to TESDA through provision of scholarship grants for skills training and for the construction of the Libertad Training Center in Misamis Oriental which benefited sizeable number of trainees and workers.
For years, TESDA gave due recognition and honor to its partners in their promotion and support to Technical Vocational Education and Training through the Kabalikat Awarda. The criteria include investments to TESDA through scholarships, donations, promotion and advocacy, magnitude of beneficiaries and continued support to TESDA activities.
The selection process is spearheaded by the Regional Selection Committee through the Regional TESDA Committee-X that assessed the evidentiary documents of the nominees based on the criteria.
The winners will be conferred the national recognition by TESDA in August 2012 to mark the agency’s 18th anniversary. (Marigold Cherie R. Garrido/TESDA/PIA10)
