TESDA XI brings back free Assessment and Certification program

DAVAO CITY, July 3 (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will be implementing again the National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC) program after its successful run in 2011.

According to TESDA, the program is being offered to industry workers, technical vocational education and training (TVET) trainers-assessors and returning overseas Filipino Workers.

The program, which is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and employability of workers, will run from July 9-20, August 20-31 and October 15-26.

It is targeting 4,680 beneficiaries in the Davao Region. Last year, a total of 4,321 individuals availed the program region-wide.

The NATCAC 2012 will cover key qualifications in the sectors of automotive and land transport; construction; information and communication technology; tourism; metals and engineering, heating, ventilation and airconditioning; and agricultural and food processing.

Assessment activities will be conducted at selected TESDA-accredited competency assessment centers in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley.

Successful candidates will be issued with National Certificates (NCs) or Certificate of Competencies (COCs), as appropriate, which they can use in applying for jobs both local and overseas.

Interested applicants may secure application form and list of requirements from the identified assessment centers or at the nearest TESDA Provincial Offices a week before the scheduled assessment. (TESDA/PIA XI)
