BANAUE, Ifugao, July 10 (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) first engineering district will implement three farm-to-market roads projects (FMRs) in the province under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Program (ARISP).

District engineer Alberto Gahid said these projects include the construction of Cababuyan road in Hingyon town, improvement of Haliap-Panubtuban road in Asipulo and the improvement of Poblacion road in the municipality of Tinoc.

He said their office had submitted FMRs projects to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) for further review, and they have
already received comments from DAR on the Hingyon and Asipulo FMR projects. He added that they are incorporating the corrections in the plans for resubmission to the central office.

The ARISP consultant recommended that the proposed bridge of said FMR project should be change to box culvert. “Instead of bridge, we would rather use two box culverts which is more economical. We are lucky because DAR will give the saving from the change to box culvert for road concreting,” Gahid said.

The ARISP is an integrated approach of DAR for the agrarian reform communities that need irrigation and drainage facilities, postharvest facilities and other institutional development. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR,Ifugao)
