CHARMP II to go on-air in Kalinga
TABUK CITY, Kalinga, July 29 (PIA) -- A radio program that seeks to help Kalinga farmers increase their agricultural productivity will soon air at DZRK Radyo ng Bayan.
The Second Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resources Management Program (CHARMP II) sub-committee on information and knowledge management (IKM) approved the conduct of radio program to disseminate CHARMPâ€™s activities to be launched on July 31.
The program will air from 6 am to 6:30 am and will be alternately anchored by the members of the sub-committee and co-anchored by DZRK.
The first three months will be devoted on purely information dissemination about CHARMP, its programs and projects.The following months will delve on implementation of projects to be highlighted by success stories and good practices.
The launch will be graced by Youqiong Wang and Yolanda Arban of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the financial donor of the program, and local officials.
CHARMP II is a special program for highland communities in the Cordilleras funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development that aims to increase agriculture productivity through various interventions including reforestation and infrastructure projects.
Six sub-committees were created under Executive Order No. 2011-10 tasked to implement the different components of CHARMP II and IKM was tasked to coordinate IEC activities that will help promote the program in Tanudan, Tinglayan, Balbalan, and Pasil, its coverage municipalities in Kalinga.
The body composed of CHARMP provincial coordinator Alpha Lumitec, provincial planning officer Norma Damian, Kalinga-Apayao State College President Eduardo Bagtang, LGU planning officers of the covered municipalities, Philippine Information Agency and DZRK Radyo ng Bayan, agreed to launch the 30 minutes morning program.
