Red Cross-Kalinga acknowledges supporters of raffle draw for a cause
TABUK CITY, Kalinga, July 3 (PIA) -– The Red Cross (RC) Kalinga Chapter generated gross proceeds of P187,500 in its June 25 raffle draw culminating the week-long festivities of Tabuk City’s 11th Matagoan Festival.
Red Cross Kalinga Chapter head Glorina Diaz said the activity was part of the chapter’s initiatives to raise funds for its operations and for its on-going building project, which serves as Red Cross operations center in the province.
Diaz admitted that the amount was short of their P500,000 target but she acknowledged those who supported the fund raising project for the cause of humanitarian care.
The chapter gave away 15 units Nokia cell phone to the lucky 15 raffle winners as prizes. Organizers of the raffle decided to forgo with the usual first three major prizes, Diaz said, in order to accommodate more winners.
Money generated from the project will be used for the chapter’s on-going operations center project worth P3.5 million that started last December 14, 2011.(LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
