Cebu PHO monitors diarrhea outbreak in Badian
CEBU CITY, July 11 (PIA) -- The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO)-Cebu is strictly monitoring the status of the diarrhea outbreak in southern Badian town as the number of cases is expected to rise as it is still in its incubation stage.
IPHO-Cebu head Dr. Cristina Giango said personnel have already been deployed to check and monitor the areas in Badian for possible cases that are not yet reported.
“We already assign some of our personnel to monitor and visit the area to check if there are cases that are not reported, and also to monitor the condition of the area as well,” Giango said.
Aside from personnel deployment, IPHO-Cebu, together with the Department of Health-7, supplied the victims with medicines and aqua tab. They also helped in the conduct of the water supply examination in the area.
As of 3 p.m. yesterday, IPHO-Cebu recorded 133 diarrhea cases of which 96 are outpatients while 37 have been admitted. Twenty-six have been discharged and only 11 where left in the district hospital. (FCR/AYS/PIA-7, CEBU)
