Quirino Communicators’ Network formed

CABARROGUIS, Quirino, June 22 (PIA) -- Information officers from six municipalities, national government agencies (NGAs), and non-government organizations (NGOs) in the province convened last week to formally organize and come up with plans aimed at popularizing the policies, programs, and activities of all local government units (LGUs), NGOs, and NGAs.

The Quirino Communicators’ Network shall be under the supervision of the Philippine Information Agency-Quirino Information Center. Its primary role is to inform and generate public support to the government’s programs and projects for the development of the province.

The newly elected officers are Leilanie M. Abad of the provincial government, President; Renato Silao of LGU Cabarroguis, Vice President; Frelita Bartolome of Department of Agrarian Reform and Florence Mangoba of the Agriculture Office, Secretaries; Mamita M. Celestino of the Department of Education, Treasurer; Marcelina A. Domingo of the National Food Authority, Auditor; William Bill Doria of LGU Saguday, PIO; Benida D. Factor of LGU Aglipay, Bus. Manager; Jean Rossini B. Lago of ABRASA MPC, Muse; and Edwin C. Ducos of DWRV, Escort.

The officers and members will meet on July 25 to finalize their constitution, bylaws, and other plans to promote government development programs in Quirino.

Among the long-term plan of the organization includes coordination with the provincial government and other concerned agencies regarding the establishment of a community radio station in the province.

The organization will also help the Balay ni Angkuan Task Force of the Provincial Nutrition Committee in the promotion of good nutrition among the people.

Laura A. Matammu, provincial social welfare and development officer and nutrition action officer, lauded the group for supporting the nutrition programs and other advocacies of the province.(TCB-PIA 2, Quirino)
