TUGUEGARAO CITY, Feb. 24 (PIA) -- To ensure peace and security in the duration of the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletics Association (CAVRAA) meet 2012, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) of Cagayan province have deployed hundreds of their police and military force all over this city.

City Chief of Police Mardito Angoluan said they have deployed some of their personnel in the highways and in the schools where the athletes are housed and also in the playing grounds, to secure the delegates from their arrival prior to the opening of the regional athletic meet which had formally opened yesterday and up to culminating program on Feb. 26.

Angoluan also stated that AFP sent some personnel to augment their force in giving peace and security measures for the said event, especially for the security of the higher political officials and school administrators who are gracing the events.

He also stated that both force will implement covert operations to ensure safety of the delegates, visitors as well as tourists against individuals who might take advantage of the event, and to manage smooth traffic flow.

Angoluan also said that other civil society organizations have signified their interest to help in maintaining peace and security in the duration of the CAVRAA 2012 meet. (TCB/OTB/TCC-PIA 2)
