Wednesday 1st of February 2012ILAGAN, Isabela, February 1 (PIA) -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is planning to expand its corporate social responsibility through reforestation and livelihood assistance to its service areas in northern Luzon.
Atty. Cynthia Alabanza, NGCP spokesperson who was a guest during Tuesday’s Tipon-Tipan sa PIA held at PIA regional office, said the NGCP is looking into the expansion of its reforestation program and livelihood assistance program for the residents of the areas where the transmission lines of NGCP pass through.
She said the company is currently looking for additional areas to reforest and has already taken steps in implementing mangrove reforestation in Batangas. The company also pushes for a using bamboo in reforestation, she added. (TCB/MGE/PIA- Isabela)
