Angeles City is not just “an entertainment center”
ANGELES CITY, Pampanga, June 13 (PIA) – Angeles City is not just an entertainment center but rather a city that is rich in culture and history as well as delicious foods.
This was bared by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan during the 114th Independence Day Celebration held at Pamintuan Mansion yesterday.
Some of the entertainment centers are Casino Filipino - Angeles, Mimosa Golf and Country Club, Meanwhile Comedy, and Resto Bar, among others.
“We are already attracting a lot of local and foreign tourists because of our vibrant and exciting entertainment sector. But we are also trying to project and promote our colorful history and culture, and our culinary arts as tourist attractions,” the mayor explained.
Some of the historical places in Angeles City are: the Museo ning Angeles (Museum of Angeles) which would become the benchmark of other soon to be declared national-cultural properties of the Philippines by the National Museum; the Bale Matua which was built in 1824 and considered as the oldest building in the city; Camalig which was built by the first gobernadorcillo of Angeles, Don Ciriaco de Miranda in 1840; and the Pamintuan Mansion where it was first celebrated the Philippine Independence on June 12, 1899, among others.
Pamintuan stressed that, “the revolution and fight for our freedom and independence for our country would not be achieved if not to our ordinary people. Without the people, the mass, there wouldn’t be an Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo, Antonio Luna, and Gregorio del Pilar.”
“The Filipino – the mass, are the true heroes of all time, be it in times of struggle or fight for independence,” he concluded. (CLJD/JGB-PIA3)
