Nueva Ecija to experience 9-hour power interruption
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 10 (PIA) -- The province of Nueva Ecija will experience a nine-hour power interruption on July 12, from 8 a.m. up to 5 p.m.
National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Regional Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Officer for North Luzon Lilibeth Gaydowen said, “Affected distribution utility (DU) includes Nueva Ecija II Electric Cooperative Inc. (Neeco II) Area I of Muñoz, Guimba, Quezon, Caranglan and Aliaga Substation and San Jose Electric Cooperative (Sajelco).”
The affected areas are the towns of Quezon, Licab, Guimba, Talugtog, Science City of Muñoz, Central Luzon State University, San Jose City, Lupao, Pantabangan and Caranglan.
“This interruption is to facilitate substation and maintenance works as part of Luzon Substation Expansion Project I in preparation for the energization of new 300-megavolt ampere (MVA) transformer No. 1 at Cabanatuan Substation,” Gaydowen said.
Gaydowen said, “Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion. NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.”
The DU determines the specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruption, unless the activity affects the entire franchise area.
The DU also allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users. (CLJD/JGB-PIA3)
