Cavite gets nomination for Best LGU award

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, July 12 (PIA) -- Cavite province is one of the five national finalists for the “Best Local Government Unit Awards” sponsored by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Efren M. Echavia, DILG director, said that Cavite will undergo the next level of selection process which is the field evaluation and validation (FEV) scheduled on July 16 to be conducted by the PNP-Directorate for Police Community Relations based in Camp Crame.

Criteria for the Best LGU/LGO which will be the subject of the FEV Team will be administrative and operational accomplishments and overall impact in the community. There will be points for each factor which is 30 percent for administrative and operational accomplishments and 40 percent for overall impact in the community.

The following are also nominated for best LGU awards: Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in Eastern Samar (for LGA/GO), City Government of Tacloban ((LGU), and non-government organization Peace Action and Rescue with Dedication to Service the Society (PARDSS)- Pasig City and Morong Volunteers’ Emergency Response Team (MVERT) from Morong, Rizal.

The awarding will be held on the 11th Police Service Anniversary celebration, August 8 at the national headquarters of PNP in Camp Crame, Quezon City. (CPG/RBF-PIA 4A, Cavite/PICAD)
