LUCENA CITY, Quezon, June 5 (PIA) -- Because of the success of the ‘Brigada eskwela’ program in this city, the Department of Education (DepEd) will implement this program all year round.

According to Dr. Aniano Ogayon, city schools division superintendent, the partnership of police, military, parents, teachers and private organizations contributed to make this program beneficial to students in the public schools.

“We are extending our sincere gratitude to all the volunteers and would-be volunteers to this program because we will make this a year-round activity in all the schools,” Dr. Ogayon said.

Meanwhile, almost 34,000 public elementary school students in this city went back to schools yesterday.

Ogayon said some schools in this city will open their classes on June 13 because of some improvement of the school buildings, but everything are all ready including the teachers and textbooks.

He added that grade 1 and 1st year high school students will use the new curriculum under the K+12 program. (CPG/JMG/PIA-Quezon)
