CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, July 9 (PIA) -- The Philippine Business Registry, which will serve as a one-stop-shop for applicants who need to transact with several government agencies to initially register their businesses, was formally launched in Oriental Mindoro.

Officers of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth based in Calapan City converged for the PBR project.

“This convergence initiative at the provincial level is already a remarkable step in achieving unity, sharing of information and resources of the five agencies in our joint effort to simplify business registration procedure as well as having a reliable business database in the province,” DTI Provincial Dir. Oscar Agbay said.

The PBR aims to achieve a seamless transactional environment for business registration and facilitation with all the concerned agencies through the development of a web-based portal of business registry in the country.

It will also serve as a tool for integrating business registration-related processes across interconnected information systems implemented by several government agencies.

Through PBR, more individuals and companies will be encouraged to engage in business and this ensures that these are operating in legal and proper ways.

It will also help the government in improving its economy and revenue generation initiatives. (DTI/LTC/TBO-R4B)
