DAR fast-tracks CARP implementation in Aklan

KALIBO, Aklan, July 19 (PIA6) --The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) here has organized the Land Tenure Improvement – Program Beneficiaries Development (LTI-PBD) to hasten the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension for Reform (CARPER )in Aklan.

DAR-Aklan created four teams to accomplish this. The teams are tasked to conduct profiling of landholdings covered by collective Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA); identification of agrarian reform beneficiaries for the issuance of individual CLOA, and to conduct a subdivision survey.

The teams will also conduct community mapping and assessment, profiling of agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations, profiling of ARBs, crops and production and data gathering, documentation and other preparatory activities for the creation of the area development plan.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Eberardo Erespe is the chairperson of the Land Tenure Improvement Program - Beneficiaries Development Integration Task Force created to oversee the teams while the co-chair is Ronilo Ropa, OIC PARO I.

The municipalities covered by the project, according to DAR-Aklan, are Ibajay, with 12 barangays; Makato, 5 barangays; Tangalan, 2 barangays; Malinao, 6 barangays; Libacao, 4 barangays and Madalag, 10 barangays.

Profiling in the barangays officially started in Ibajay July 11 after notification of the concerned ARBs especially those holding CLOAs. (JCM/VGV DAR/PIA 6 Aklan)
