PWDs showcase products in Kinaadman trade fair

SAN JOSE, Antique, July 19 (PIA) --The Provincial Disability Affairs Office and the Antique Association of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) launched “Kinaadman” a trade fair of services and products of Persons with Disabilities.

“Kinaadman” is a Kinaray-a term that connotes distinct skill, ingenuity or creativity of a person, thus Kinaadman trade fair is a display of distinct skill or creativity of Antiqueno PWDs.

The trade fair is in celebration of the 34th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the theme “Mainstreaming Persons with disabilities in Economic Development”.

Governor Exequiel B. Javier and Vice Governor Rosie Dimamay during the program committed their support to the programs/projects of persons with disabilities including appropriations of funds for their endeavors.

Featured in the trade fair are services and products by PWDS such as handmade jewelries, accessories, ready to wear, among others at the ground floor of the Old Capitol Building, San Jose until Friday July 20.

Mayor Rony Molina of San Jose in his opening remarks said the trade fair organized by concerned agencies like the Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment and Technical Education Skills Development Authority is a concrete step towards mainstreaming persons with disabilities in economic development.

Molina likewise encouraged other PWDs who are not member of local association to join the group so that they can be counted and avail of support extended by government and other non-government organizations to PWDs. (JCM/PSM/PIA6Antique)
