RDC, CSC launch search for Cordillera champions 2013
BAGUIO CITY, Aug 3 (PIA) - - The Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC-CAR) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) launched last Tuesday the ‘Search for Cordillera Champions 2013.’
CSC Regional Director Fernando Porio said the search aims to give recognition to public and private individuals and organizations, in various fields of endeavor, in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with outstanding accomplishments and achievements towards the attainment of its regional development goals.
It also aims to inspire and motivate those from the Cordillera to excel in their chosen fields so as to sustain consistent superior contributions and development efforts in the region.
“The Cordillera, as an ethnic and diversified region, is blessed with committed and dedicated citizens who are determined to rise for the social advancement and economic development of the region to improve the quality of life of its people. As such, it shall endeavor to recognize exemplary accomplishments and achievements of deserving constituents who contributed significantly to the attainment of regional development goals and objectives,”Porio said.
The search shall have two categories– individual and team or group category.
For a nominee to qualify, he/she must have good moral character and unquestionable integrity with no conviction or pending criminal or administrative offense at the time of nomination; and must have noteworthy accomplishments or achievements in various development areas such as governance, social justice, agriculture, ecotourism, education, entrepreneurship, science and technology, environment, arts and culture, peace and order, community development, medicine or health, media/journalism and sports.
According to Porio, any individual or organization, institution, civil society organizations from the public or private sector with extensive knowledge of the achievements of the nominee, may nominate.
Nomination documents should include duly accomplished nomination form, personal data sheet/resume/curriculum vitae with passport size ID picture with nametag, duly notarized nominee’s self-certification of no pending or previous conviction of administrative or criminal offense, National Bureau of Investigation clearance and photocopy of proofs of accomplishments.
Porio also disclosed that a search committee with seven RDC members will be organized to formulate the evaluation process and rules, as well as to do the evaluation and actual validation. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
