Public market collection in P’que increase

PARAÑAQUE, June 29 (PIA) -- The city government of Parañaque through its Economic Enterprise Management Division (EEMD) recently reported that revenue collection from its public market operations has increased this year.

Based on EEMD report, revenue collection for the period of January to May 2012 this year rose by 4.5 percent to P7,005,309.78 compared to P6,701,946.19 in the same period last year.

According to the city government, the increase in collection is due to the intensive efforts of the public market administration, including tax mapping, saturation drives for business permits compliance, regular inspections of weighing scales and other consumer-friendly measures that improved market patronage.

Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. commended local government employees for a job well done.

Meanwhile, EEMD head Ligaya Peñaranda expressed her gratitude to the local chief executive for the repairs made in the public market area to prevent flooding.

She also thanked the city government, local police and barangay units for their continuing efforts in keeping peace and order in the public market area. (PARAÑAQUE-PIO/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
