DPWH-8 conducts improvement projects in Palompon, Leyte

PALOMPON, Leyte, June 19 (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways, Leyte Fourth Engineering District is currently conducting a number of improvement projects in Palompon, Leyte.

OIC-District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzalez briefed Mayor of Palompon Ramon C. Oñate, regarding the on-going projects like the Libungao-Matag-ob-Palompon road, which is being funded under the Government Appropriations Act or the Regular Infra; the construction of the tourism wharf and stilt cottage plus additional boardwalk under the Department of Tourism; and the rehabilitation and extension of Regional Health Unit (RHU) 2, which will be used as birthing center in Brgy. San Isidro under the Department of Health.

According to Gonzalez, to date, the rehabilitation and extension of RHU 2 in Brgy. San Isidro, Palompon, Leyte, is already 100 percent complete; the Libungao-Matag-ob-Palompon road is already 69.20 percent complete, while the construction of the stilt cottage is almost 100 percent complete. (PIA 8)
