PDEA busts P50,000 shabu in Normin

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 10 -- Five grams or P50,000.00 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or popularly known as shabu were busted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Regional Office 10 – Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon Provincial Special Enforcement Team (PSET) during a simultaneous buy-bust operations conducted at Valencia City and Iligan City respectively on May 9.

Director Roberto S. Opeña of PDEA-10 said the first buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 2, Poblacion, Valencia City which resulted to the arrest of a Watch Listed Drug personality of Bukidnon Province and two other suspects. They were arrested after they were “caught in the act” having a pot session.

Bought from the suspect was one (1) piece rectangular heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. Recovered from the suspect's possession and control were: three (3) pieces rectangular shape heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and buy-bust money worth P500. Also recovered from the three having a pot session were the following: six (6) empty transparent plastic sachets with traces of shabu residue; two (2) improvised tooter made of aluminum foil; one (1) used aluminum foil strip with traces of suspected shabu residue; 1 improvised bamboo clip and 2 disposable lighters.

While on the 2nd buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 4, Saray, Iligan City which resulted to the arrest of one of the Watch Listed Drug Personality of Lanao del Norte. Bought from the suspect was 1 rectangular shape heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu worth P300.00. Recovered from his possession and control were: 3 medium square shape, 6 rectangular shape and 1 square shape small size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; 1 rectangular shape plastic container containing several empty plastic sachets and a roll aluminum foil.

Also arrested were three other suspects in Iligan City. Recovered from their possession and control were 1 used aluminum foil, 1 improvised water pipe, 1 improvised lighter with needle and 1 improvised tooter.

Arrested suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-RO 10 Satellite Office at Tipanoy, Iligan City Detention Cell and Malaybalay City Detention Facility for booking and documentation and confiscated drug and non-drug evidences were forwarded to PNP Crime Laboratory in their respective area for comprehensive examination.
