ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte, Feb. 4 (PIA) -- Forty-two personnel of the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) received their promotions in the Pinning of Rank/Investiture Rites at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at barangay Tipanoy, Jan. 29.
Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz, together with Police Senior Superintendent Celso G. Regencia, led in the pinning of new ranks for 11 Police Officer (PO) 1 to PO2; 28 PO2 to PO3; one for PO3 to Senior Police Officer (SPO) 1 and one from PO3 to PO4.
Cruz said it is not easy to get promotion particularly among police officers because many have to wait to get one.
“There are many requirements and mechanics that need to be completed and one to join the police before he is promoted. They will pass through a process and their track record is checked,” the mayor said.
In his message, Cruz hopes the promotees will use their ranks in the good performance of their duties to change the bad image of the police.
The mayor also hopes that the police officers will perform their duty to stop criminality even if it involves their sibling or relatives.
Mayor Cruz thank the families of the police officers who were present in the ceremony for giving their moral support because the cops will not be effective if there is no ‘peace and order’ in their own homes. (CIO/PIA-10)
