Girl Scouts launch ‘Adopt a Patrol Scheme Outreach Program’
LAGAWE, Ifugao, April 22 (PIA) - - The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) council board members (CBM) had sponsored 100 star and junior girl scouts from the different municipalities in the province in support of its ‘Adopt a Patrol Scheme Outreach Program.’
Council Executive Officer, Feliza Gumangan, said the outreach program aims to let more girls experience the joy of being a GSP and at the same time, achieve the membership target of the council.
“Through the program, the CBM pledge to pay for the membership fees of qualified and interested indigent girl scouts especially those coming from far flung schools of the province,” she said.
The Girl Scout program teaches young girls ladies how to relate to others, develop values , develop self potentials, and contribute to society.
Meanwhile, the GSP-Ifugao has a new set of officers who will serve and carry-out the programs and activities of the council from 2012-2015.
Elected officers are: president- Jacqueline Lunag; Judge Leticia Morales, Felicidad Pawingi and Mary Dauz as vice presidents for field, fund development and international participation, respectively; Dr. Isabelita Codamon – secretary; Lorna Gulguluway – assistant secretary; Joyce Buyuccan – treasurer; Aireen Nayao – assistant treasurer; Louisa Malingan – auditor and Natividad Tayaban and Lucia Martin as commissioners for program and training.
Nineteen members of the council board and 18 members at large were also elected as sectoral representatives for education, culture, health, sports, public, , social, religious, business and civic organization. ( MBL – PIA CAR, Ifugao)
