₱11M livelihood assistance to benefit 738 households in Romblon

ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — A total ₱11,070,000 livelihood assistance benefited  738 households across Romblon.

The aid, which was distributed from July 9 to 12 was under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

SLP Coordinator Gare Gaa, in an interview with PIA Romblon, noted that the beneficiaries are from the towns of Corcuera, Magdiwang, Cajidiocan, San Fernando, Concepcion, Romblon and Santa Fe.

Each household received ₱15,000 in cash, which will be used to start or improve their chosen livelihoods.

Prior to the payout, participants underwent program orientation and skills training.

The SLP is a capability-building program designed to enhance the skills, experiences, and competencies of participants to establish sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship or employment.

Gaa encouraged the beneficiaries to use the cash they receive to improve their living. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
