100 4Ps beneficiaries graduate from the program

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) — A hundred of Ilagueño Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have already graduated from the program.

The graduation of the 4Ps beneficiaries was conducted in conjunction of the ‘Pammadayaw na Paggradua na Pantawid Pamilya’  graduation ceremony attended by Regional Director Lucia Alan and city officials of Ilagan.

Alan said the beneficiaries have successfully transitioned from survival stage to self-sufficiency.

“This is another significant milestone in the lives of the program beneficiaries and highlighted the success of the government’s efforts in uplifting the vulnerable families in the region,” Alan said.

In addition, 10 4Ps children who have achieved and completed their college education through the Expanded Student’s Grants-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation  (ESGP-PA) scholars were recognized during the activity.

Malou Urandayan Angoluan, one of the recognized graduates, shared how the grants and scholarships she received helped her complete her college studies.

She said the financial aid eased the burden fro her educational expenses and gave her determination to pursue and complete her college education.

Angoluan is now a licensed teacher. She also urged her fellow beneficiaries to remain focused and complete their chosen careers to uplift their families’ status in life.

“Ipakita natin na hindi nakadepende sa 4Ps ang buhay at yaman natin. Ang 4Ps ay isang programa ng gobyerno na katuwang natin sa unti-unting pag-ahon sa buhay. (Let’s show that our lives and prosperity are not solely dependent on 4Ps. 4Ps is just one of the government’s program that supports us in gradually improving our lives).” she said.

Meanwhile, City of Ilagan Vice Mayor Kit Bello expressed his thanks to the DSWD for the support extended to the Ilagueño 4Ps beneficiaries from the start of the program until they achieved and graduated from the program including the college graduates who were members of the 4Ps families.

He assured that the city government under the leadership of the visionary Local Chief Executive Josemarie L. Diaz to continue assisting the graduated 4Ps beneficiaries and those still benefitting the program. (MGE/PIA Isabela)
