1,000 bikers expected to join Guimaras Nat’l Cycling Fest

ILOILO CITY (PIA) – – A thousand of bikers nationwide are expected to join the Guimaras National Cycling Fest 2024 on November 16 to December 1, 2024 in the island province of Guimaras.

The event, anchored on the theme “One Bike. One Island. One Paradise.”, aims to highlight the island’s natural beauty, boost tourism, support local businesses, and drive economic growth in line with the Kabataan FIRST development agenda of Governor JC Rahman Nava.

It also underscores the province’s dedication to sports tourism, cultural heritage, and talent development. 

The festival will feature national competitions, fun races, cycling fairs, and educational activities for all ages. 

A Bike Jamboree will kick off the national cycling event on November 16, combining cycling with community initiatives like tree planting and coastal cleanup, culminating in a camping experience at Abelardo’s Beach Resort. 

Other key features include the Bike Fair & Show on November 16-17, showcasing various bike categories, and the Kid’s Fun Race on November 17, alongside bike clinics for young riders. 

The Gravel Ride on November 23 and the Criterium Race on November 30 will offer competitive excitement, while the marquee events are the Cross-Country Marathon National Championship on November 24 and the Enduro National Championship on December 1.

Good news for Guimarasnon cyclists, the registration for the Criterium Race is free, courtesy of Governor Nava, according to the province’s Public Information and Relations Unit (PIRU). These races will challenge cyclists across diverse terrains, with winners earning the chance to compete internationally.
