Village child dev’t center gets P2.3M rehabilitation

MANILA, (PIA) — The city government of Valenzuela City has allocated over P2.3 million for the rehabilitation of the Barangay Arkong Bato Child Development Center.

Mayor Weslie Gatchalian led the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 27, together with Dorothy Evangelista, Chief of Social Welfare Operations, and local barangay officials.

The center features a total lot area of 144 square meters and a floor area of 70 square meters.

The revamped facility is designed to create a more conducive learning environment, boasting well-lit, air-conditioned rooms, play areas, and child-friendly restrooms.

Dedicated spaces within the classrooms are set up for arts and crafts, storytelling, reading, and music and poetry, all aimed at fostering creativity and engagement among young learners.

Decorated with vibrant artwork and educational charts, the center aligns with Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) standards, reflecting the city’s commitment to quality education.

The Arkong Bato Child Development Center is one of 28 fully renovated centers in Valenzuela City, following the recent openings of new centers in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon and Barangay Malinta.
