130 TUPAD beneficiaries in Kalinga town get wage

LUBUAGAN,Kalinga(PIA) — One hundred thirty low-income individuals  of Barangay Mabilong in this town,  received  financial assistance under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Personnel of  DOLE – Kalinga Field Office  and the Lubuagan Public Employment and Services Office (PESO)  led the payout where  each  beneficiary received  P4,000 wage for a 10-day community services rendered that  included cleaning of river banks.

Under the TUPAD, government through DOLE provides temporary work to informal workers.

Lubuagan Mayor Joel B. Tagaotao during the pay-out on November 16  expressed   his constituents’ gratitude for the aid and urged the beneficiaries to use the money for the needs of their families.

He extended personal appreciation to DOLE-CAR Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra for including their municipality under the program.

Tagaotao assured  that the municipal local government  will continue to partner with government agencies in sourcing-out  grant assistance and projects   for the people.

DOLE has been providing TUPAD assistance to several areas in the province this year, some  as tie-up undertakings with senators. (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
