CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — A total of 14 new buildings of the Oriental Mindoro provincial government are now ready to cater to the various sectors of society.
The newly constructed ₱42-million sectoral centers, whose inauguration was led by Governor Humerlito Dolor on November 27, are located in one compound at Sta. Isabel, Calapan City.
Each sector, namely Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), cooperatives, fraternities, women, Community Anti-Crime Group (CACG), LGBTQA+, Indigenous Peoples, fishermen, Miss Oriental Mindoro, Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), teachers, senior citizens, and farmers has its building.
Of the 14 new buildings, three were funded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

The buildings will serve as temporary accommodation areas for the sectors, particularly for those coming from distant towns in the province that have transactions with the provincial government or other government agencies in Calapan City.
According to Dolor, the first floor of the buildings will serve as conference halls, while the second floor will serve as dormitories for members of the mentioned sectors who have government transactions and are hesitant to return to their faraway towns.
Eric Evangelio, chairperson of the Bulalacao Motorcycle, Tricycle Operators and Drivers Transport Cooperative (BLOVEMOTODTCO), expressed gratitude for the building constructed for their sector.
He said that having such a facility is a huge help, especially since Bulalacao is the farthest municipality in the province, citing that the facility will ensure temporary housing and their safety.

Ronjo Cayetano, a member of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) from Barangay Sampaguita in Naujan, also expressed gratitude for the government’s gesture for their sector.
