BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA)– The Department of Labor and Employment recently turned over livelihood starter kits under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program to 16 benefeciaries from the different towns of the province.
The livelihood kits are composed of equipment and materials that could help beneficiaries in starting income generating undertaking such as sewing; carpentry and welding services; sari-sari store; rice and vegetable farming; baking, longanisa, yogurt and potato chips -making.
DOLE-Mountain Province Provincial Director Apollo R. Luspian is hopeful that the assistance will help the beneficiaries in recovering from the effects of the Magnitude 7 earthquake last year.
“Beneficiaries, may you use them to generate stable income for you and your families. May you look past the devastation of yesterday and set anew today. It is our hope that this assistance will go a long way in helping you recover from the effects of the last calamity,” he said.
The turnover was led by Luspian, together with Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Executive Judge Sergio T. Angnganay, Jr., Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12 – Family Court Judge Gaslito A. Dumpayan, RTC Branch 35 Judge Kode G. Daoas, Bontoc Municipal Mayor Jerome Tudlong Jr., and DOLE-MP DILP Focal Person Amaranth Rae L. Abalos. (JDP/VJLT-PIA Mt. Province)
