BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – Eighteen job seekers found immediate employment as they were hired on the spot(HOT) in the Department of Labor and Employment- led job fair held at the SM City Baguio recently.
A total of 1050 job vacancies were offered by 19 participating companies in the one- day event organized by the DOLE-Cordillera, in partnership with the local government unit of Baguio City through its Public Employment, and SM City Baguio.
The 18 HOTs were among the 242 job registrants. They will start their jobs in various industries as customer service representatives, bread and pastry bakers, café attendants, and others.
DOLE – CAR OIC Regional Director Imelda Romanillos said the job fair was in response to the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide employment opportunities to address the country’s unemployment rate. The event catered to fresh graduates and job seekers, providing a platform to connect with potential employers.
Side by side with the job fair was a one-stop-shop for government services by participating agencies such as the Social Security System, PhilHealth, Home Development Mutual Fund, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Statistics Authority, and Philippine Army. (JDP/MAWC-PIA-CAR)
