MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA) — The local government of Mambajao will celebrate the members of its community at the first Garbo sa Mambajao Excellence Award gala on December 28 at the Camiguin Convention Center.
Still in its first year, this event recognizes the exemplary contributions of chosen agencies, institutions, and individuals in various sectors of its community.
“On the barangay level, the awards encompass best practices in solid waste management, organic farming, peacekeeping, financial transparency and efficient services, health governance, emergency and disaster response, and barangay legislation,” said Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo.
The event will also recognize other significant sectors of the municipality, including youth and senior citizen organizations, PWD and women’s associations, children’s councils, and education, for their significant contributions to community building.
Moreover, the award will also be extended to some primary tourism establishments such as hotels, resorts, and dive shops, as well as private companies such as local contractors and business entities.
The Garbo sa Mambajao Excellence Award gala is the first of its kind in the Province of Camiguin and shall expand its award categories in the coming years. (LGU Mambajao/PIA-10/Camiguin)
