SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) paces up with the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) in the province with an enumeration period until September 15, 2024.
Provincial Statistics Officer Randy M. Tacogdoy reported the enumeration of more than 54 percent of the province’s total households with 105,118 households/buildings already enumerated.

Of the total structures visited, 16,072 buildings were considered special cases such as vacant housing units, buildings, rest houses, and non-usual residences.
Tacogdoy cited the commitment of the enumerators and their respective supervisors for braving the weather, rain or shine, through varying levels of weather and terrain conditions to ensure that all households and buildings are visited and geotagged.
PSA emphasized the importance of household participation in this survey to facilitate the updating of the country’s total population and the social registries of the government, particularly those providing social protection programs.

With this, PSA urged the continuing support of the local officials from the province to the barangay levels to ensure the enumerators are assisted, especially those in hard-to-reach areas.
PSA assured the respondents of the confidentiality of the data being gathered by the enumerators as they are covered under the Data Privacy Act of RA 10173.
Tacogdoy also emphasized the importance of the PopCen and CBMS to the country’s compliance with Sustainable Development Goals where data gathered served as inputs for the government to initiate programs responding to the needs of the people. (AGP/PSM/PSA/PIA Antique)
