PDEA conducts VIP protective security and operations refresher training

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a five-day refresher training on VIP Protective Security and Operations on November 20-24, 2023 at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.

The training is designed to equip the participants the necessary knowledge and skills in securing high profile and high-risk individuals during crisis situations such as PDEA key officials and VIPs from local and foreign counterparts visiting the Agency.

Thirty-one (31) Drug Enforcement Officers (DEOs) who are assigned/detailed Security Officers of the Command Group and other National Services, served as participants to the training.

Subject matter experts from the Police Security Protection Group (PSPG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) are tapped to shared their expertise and provide insights on effective security tactics, techniques and strategies. 

Assistant Secretary Renato Gumban, Deputy Director General for Operations cordially welcomed the participants and delivered his opening speech. Other attendees include Director Lirio Ilao-Oximar, Superintendent, PDEA Academy; and Director Emiterio Bitong of Intelligence Service. (PDEA/PIA-NCR)
