QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — More than 22 million elementary and secondary students are expected to troop back to schools at opening of school year (SY) 2023-2024 Tuesday, August 29.
There are a total of 22,381,555 registered students for the coming school year, according to the Department of Eductation (DepEd) data for SY 2023-2024, as of August 27, 2023.
DepEd, Region IV-A had the most students enrolled at 3,446,304, followed by Region III (2,527,661); National Capital Region (2,468,170); Region VI (1,703,055); Region VII (1,686,587); Region V (1,430,571); Region XI (1,159,193); Region X (1,052,230); Region I (1,016,659); Region VIII (995,343); Region XII (961,388); Region II (815,530); Region IX (769,064); Region IV-B (692,576); BARMM (680,932); CARAGA (627,269) and Cordillera Administrative Region (347,482).
Philippine Schools Overseas have 1,541 registered enrollees.
The enrollment period in public schools began on August 7 and ended on Saturday, August 26. (PIA-NCR)
