TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol (PIA)–The Department of Interior and Local Government – National Barangay Operations Office (DILG-NBOO) has released the official results of the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) assessment, where 24 barangays in the province of Bohol have successfully passed.

The SGLGB is a performance assessment and recognition system initiated by the DILG that aims to distinguish the remarkable performance of the barangays under a given set of governance areas.

This program is borne from the SGLG for provinces, cities, and municipalities which is regarded as the most prestigious recognition conferred by the DILG to LGUs in the country.

The SGLGB assessment criteria applies the “3+1 Principle,” where a barangay must pass all three core governance areas, namely: financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; safety, peace, and order and at least one essential governance area like social protection and sensitivity; business-friendliness and competitiveness; and environmental management to ultimately clinch the seal.

This recognition highlights the unwavering commitment of these barangays to exemplary governance, accountability, and efficiency in delivering timely and responsive services to their constituents.

The barangays that received the SGLGB distinction include: Barangay Tambongan and Barangay Tubod of Candijay town; Barangay Poblacion Centro (Clarin); Barangay Anislag, Barangay Cancatac, Barangay Pandol, and Barangay Poblacion (Corella); Barangay Basdio, Barangay Cabantian and Barangay Tabajan (Guindulman).

Also included are Barangay Agape, Barangay Botoc Occidental, Barangay Botoc Oriental, Barangay Calvario, Barangay Poblacion Ibabao, Barangay Sagnap, Barangay Tangcasan Norte and Barangay Yanangan (Loay); Barangay Bil-san (Panglao); Barangay Canmaya Diot (Sagbayan); Barangay Pangi-an (Valencia); and Barangay Dao, Barangay Taloto, and Barangay Ubujan (Tagbilaran City).
