BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – Twenty-nine public schools in the province recently received land titles through the Handog Titulo Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
“Titling of public schools will secure their rights and protect them from encroachment, segregation, illegal occupation and adverse claims of ownership by other individuals or parties,” the PENRO-Abra stated in a facebook post.
The land titles were awarded to the beneficiary schools during the Handog Titulo Program in Bangued on September 24, 2024.
This distribution of patents was through the collaboration of the DENR, the Department of Education, and the Land Registration Authority-Registry of Deeds. The recipient schools are the Agtangao Elementary School (ES), Ampalioc Primary School, Amtuagan ES, Baay Integrated School, Baay National High School, Bañacao ES, Baoyan ES, Collago ES, Dalimag ES, Danglas Central School, Dolores Central School, Gangal ES, Layugan ES, Manayday ES, Maoay Primary School, Pagala West ES, Pangtod National High School, Pilar Central School, San Gregorio ES, San Isidro Central School, Santa Rosa ES, Silet ES, Siwasiw ES, Tabangao Integrated School, Tagodtod National High School, Taping ES, Turod ES, Tuquib Integrated School, and Bangbangcag Primary School.
“Thank you very much to all the people behind this program. Having a land title is imperative for securing the legal, financial and operational future of the school,” expressed the Danglas Central School in an appreciation post.
Danglas CS was the first school to receive a land title through school principal Hector B. Escala.
At present, there are 177 schools with patents in the entire province of Abra. The PENRO-Abra encourages more applications for special patents to enhance the security of land ownership for educational institutions to empower them to thrive in their communities. (JJPM-PIA CAR, Abra)
