2,984 students receive educational aid from Pampanga Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 2,984 students in Pampanga benefitted from the educational aid given by the provincial government.

Of these, a total of 113 recipients are Aeta students belonging to the upland communities of Porac and Floridablanca towns. Each beneficiary received a check worth P4,000 as part of the Educational Financial Assistance Program.

Zenaida Imasa, a 36-year-old Aeta scholar from Floridablanca thanked the provincial government for playing a vital role in supporting her education and that of her children.

“Thank you so much to our governor and vice governor for helping people like us. This is a big help to me and to indigenous peoples like us. Almost all of my children are scholars of the provincial government too,” she added.

Data from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office showed that a total of 14 Aeta scholars, including Imasa, recently graduated through the help of the program.

With this, Governor Dennis Pineda congratulated all the Aeta scholars who graduated for bringing pride to their tribes.

“I am happy and proud that we have here our Aeta brothers and sisters who were able to finish their studies. They serve as sources of inspiration to the people in their communities, and to other people as well,” he said. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
