TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte (PIA)- -Three component local government units (LGUs) in the province Davao del Norte ratified in 1998, celebrated their 27th founding anniversary on March 7.
The City of Tagum was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 8472 that emanated from House Bill No. 7509, sponsored by the then Congressman Baltazar Sator.
The Island Garden City of Samal was created in 1998 through Republic Act No. 8471, merging the municipalities of Babak, Samal, and Kaputian.
The House Bill No. 9451 sponsored in 1997 by then Congressman Rodolfo P. del Rosario paved way for the birth of this island city located at the Davao Gulf.
Del Rosario also sponsored in 1997, the House Bill No. 9272 that became R.A. 8473, creating the Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali, carved from Panabo and Carmen.
In marking the 27th founding anniversary, the City of Tagum bannered the theme “Panag-uyon sa katawhan, kalambuan sa tanan. (Harmony among people, progress for all); and the Island Garden City of Samal carried the theme, “Isla na Paraiso, Padayon sa Pag-Asenso, Bahanding Samalenyo (Island of Paradise, continue the progress, [for the wealth] of Samalenyo.”
Meanwhile, the Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali celebrated its 27th founding anniversary, with the theme , “𝘋𝘈𝘚𝘐𝘎 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨–𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘥 𝘶𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘖𝘝𝘌 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨–𝘶𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘰𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘥𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰 (Enthusiasm to serve with love for each other leads us to continued progress),” (JMDA, photo from Samal Information Office)
