CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) — Three students from Quirino General High School (QGHS) and Cabarroguis National School of Arts and Trades (CNSAT) were recently selected to represent Team Philippines at the 2025 IWWF Asia and Oceania Wakeboard and Wakeskate Championships.
The 2025 IWWF Asia & Oceania Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships will be held from 24th to 26th January 2025 at Deca Wake Park Clark, Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines.
Ryan Alias is a 15-year-old Grade 7 student of CNSAT while James Damance and Kherlie Elgyne Alayziah Santiago, both aged12 and Grade 7 students of QGHS.
Both Alias and Santiago won silver medals during the 2024 Philippines Cable Wake Nationals, held at Deca Wake Park, Clark, Pampanga on September 27-28, 2024.

Their coach, Eric Pagulayan who is also an employee of the Quirino Watersports Complex said the three joined the wakeboarding clinic conducted by the provincial government and all of them won in the competition organized for all the trainees.
Pagulayan said the three are now a hundred percent ready to compete with athletes from over 16 countries in the Asia and Oceania region, but he admitted that the athletes are still trying to improve some tricks, falls, and jumps.
The coach thanked the athletes’ teachers and parents for showing full support and the provincial government through Governor Dax Cua for the full support to the young athletes in their journey. (TCB/PIA-2, QUIRINO)
